Fescue

Fescue is known as cool-season grass with heat, cold, and drought tolerance. The grass is popular for homeowners in the north but is well-suited for areas that experience both warm and cool seasons.

Tifway 419 Bermuda

Tifway 419 Bermuda is the most widely used turfgrass and has been an industry standard for residential and commercial lawns, athletic fields and golf courses for over 50 years.

TifTuf Bermuda

This fine-textured, green leaf beauty uses 38% less water than similar grass cultivars… and still looks great. With a high shade tolerance, when cooler autumn temperatures arrive, it stays greener further into the season.

Bluegrass

Sod Maintenance Tips

Watering

Water the soil prior to installing new sod. Newly installed sod needs to be watered within 30 minutes of install. Water frequently the first 2 weeks after install. Make sure to only water enough to wet the roots of the sod.

Rooting

Rooting typically starts within a week, but can go up to two weeks. New sod roots are short, so make sure to take extra care during this time. Your sod can develop root rot and fail if it gets too soggy, so don't overwater.

Walking

Walking on the sod before the roots have taken hold can cause poor rooting or root failure. Make sure to keep pets, children and everyone else off of new sod until at least it's time for the first mow.

Fertilizing

New sod is ready to be fertilized around 5 weeks after installation. The type of fertilizer you choose depends on the type of sod installed. If you're unsure, contact us to make sure you're using the proper fertilizer.

Mowing

You're ready to mow when you start seeing little white roots and have some difficulty pulling up individual pieces of sod. Mow at the highest setting to only cut the very tops. Continue to keep the soil moist every other day.
